In this podcast episode, I chat with Dr. Kathryn Rombs about her new book Motherhood: An Extraordinary Vocation, which explores the dignity of motherhood, highlights motherhood as a path to fulfillment, and tackles difficult questions about how moms can use and explore their gifts and interests while also caring for their families.
Covered in this show:
- The ambivalence some women feel about motherhood; the false assumptions they may be making about the vocation of mothering.
- Different arrangements that allow women to flourish as mothers while exploring their own passions.
- The importance of relying on God when asking ourselves questions about whether and how we will work outside our homes.
- Finding freedom for excellence through a surrender to love.
About Dr. Kathryn Rombs
Kathryn Rombs is the grateful mother of a sometimes-edgy-always-radiant family. She teaches philosophy part-time at the University of Dallas, but she currently lives with her family in Rome where she is pursuing a baccalaureate in theology at the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas (aka the Angelicum). More than anything, she relishes the simple moments of being with her family. Kathryn is founder of Mighty Is Her Call, a ministry that elevates Catholic mothers through retreats and opportunities to use their various talents, messages, charisms and gifts.
